In humid environments, electrical components (such as motors and control switches) are prone to short circuit failures due to moisture, affecting the normal operation of the conveyor belt and even causing the risk of electric shock. Therefore, it is necessary to waterproof the electrical control system, install waterproof covers for motors, distribution boxes, etc. or place them in sealed electrical cabinets, regularly check the insulation performance of electrical lines, and replace aging or damaged wires in time. If the conveyed material itself is hygroscopic or easily reacts with moisture, special attention should be paid to the surface finish and gap design of the conveyor belt. For example, when conveying wet granular materials, the uneven surface of the conveyor belt may cause material retention, and after long-term accumulation, the surface of the conveyor belt will corrode. Therefore, a smooth and seamless PVC conveyor belt should be selected, and residual materials should be cleaned regularly. Environmental ventilation and temperature and humidity control are important means to improve the impact of humid environment on PVC conveyor belt. In a closed or semi-enclosed space, poor circulation of humid air will aggravate the degree of moisture on the conveyor belt. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen ventilation, install exhaust fans or air conditioning systems, and reduce environmental humidity. Especially in the rainy season or in areas with high temperature and high humidity, controlling the ambient temperature and humidity can effectively reduce condensation on the surface of the conveyor belt and inhibit mold growth. At the same time, it is necessary to avoid exposing the conveyor belt to direct sunlight for a long time, because the combined effect of ultraviolet rays and humid environment will accelerate the aging of PVC materials, causing the conveyor belt to harden and crack. Operator training and emergency handling capabilities are also crucial in humid environments. Since humid environments may increase equipment failures and safety risks, operators need to be specially trained to familiarize them with the operating characteristics of PVC conveyor belts under humid conditions and the handling methods of common problems. For example, when obvious water stains or material adhesion are found on the surface of the conveyor belt, the machine should be stopped and cleaned in time to avoid running with problems; when there is sudden rainfall or water ingress to the equipment, the power supply should be cut off immediately, and the conveyor belt and mechanical parts should be fully inspected and dried, and the operation can be resumed after confirming that there is no abnormality. In addition, operators should also develop the habit of regularly recording the operating status of the equipment, including ambient temperature and humidity, the operating speed of the conveyor belt, the material conveying volume, etc., to discover potential problems in advance through data analysis, and take preventive maintenance measures in time to ensure that the PVC conveyor belt always maintains a safe and stable working state in a humid environment.
